Things That Make Dogs Fearful
Golden Retriever (Detailed Introduction)
Dogs have a variety of emotions: happiness, anger, sadness, and fear. They are not fearless; there are many things that make them feel afraid. Instead of always letting them avoid these things, we should help them gradually adapt and eventually overcome this fear. So, what are the things that make dogs fearful? Let's find out.
First, unusual sounds can make dogs feel fearful and scared. In daily life, when a dog hears a telephone ring, TV sound, phone ringtone, firecracker noise, thunder, or car horn for the first time, these all stir up fear and timidity in the dog's heart. For example, every Chinese New Year, when families set off firecrackers, you will find that pet dogs run around frantically and then hide under blankets or beds, unwilling to come out.
Secondly, dazzling flashes and bright fires can also cause pets to become nervous and fearful. For example, fireworks, searchlights, bonfires, and so on—these strange lights can make dogs feel tense and then fearful. If you strike a match in front of a dog at night, the dog will become agitated and run around anxiously.
Dogs are afraid of these things mainly because they feel unfamiliar with them, and dogs cannot sense their presence well, so they feel uneasy inside. Therefore, we should let dogs have more exposure to these things; once they become familiar, their fear will gradually disappear.
