Some Airlines' Regulations on Pet Transport

Basically, a suitable airline crate must be prepared for pet transport
Although most airlines have similar requirements for transporting pets, different airlines have their own specific rules. Therefore, there are certain differences in actual transport, such as some airlines limiting the number of pets allowed, while others do not transport injured pets, etc.
1. Spring Airlines:
Spring Airlines does not assume responsibility for injury, loss, illness, or death of small animals, unless Spring Airlines is at fault. If the small animal does not have all the necessary exit, entry, health, and other valid documents required by the country or region of entry or transit, Spring Airlines will not be liable. The person carrying the animal must compensate Spring Airlines for any fines, costs, losses, or liabilities caused by missing or incomplete required documents.
Passengers are fully responsible for any damage or injury the pet may cause to other passengers or crew. For long-distance flights without intermediate stops or certain aircraft models unsuitable for transporting small animals, guide dogs, or hearing dogs, Spring Airlines reserves the right to refuse carriage.
2. Hainan Airlines:
Passengers must notify the Hainan Airlines ticket office or hotline 48 hours before flight departure if they are transporting small animals. Each passenger is limited to transporting one small animal. When transported as checked baggage, the total weight of the pet and crate must not exceed 20 kg.
Transport is not allowed in these situations and alternative arrangements are recommended: animals showing symptoms or suspected carriers of infectious diseases; dogs and cats under six weeks old, pregnant animals, or those that have given birth within 48 hours prior to departure; animals not meeting relevant transportation regulations of the origin, transit, or destination city or country; in connecting flights, small animals carried without the connecting carrier's consent.
3. China Southern Airlines:
Each passenger may transport only one small animal or a pair of birds; one small animal must be placed in a separate crate; a pair of birds can be placed in one crate; fees for transporting pets are twice the regular excess baggage charge; passengers must personally deliver the pet to the airport for check-in no later than 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time on the day of travel.

Know the airline’s regulations in advance
4. Air China:
It is mandatory to ensure the small animal is properly crated and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, import permits, and other required documents for entry or transit countries; otherwise, the animal will not be accepted for transport. Air China reserves the right to decide the method of pet transportation and may limit the number of pets transported on a single flight.
5. China Airlines Taiwan:
Due to cargo compartment temperature regulation considerations, China Airlines does not accept pet transport on B738 and ERJ aircraft models. For allowed animals, passengers must sign the baggage tag and a waiver agreement.
6. Lufthansa:
Passengers may bring one small dog or cat into the cabin with a weight limit of 8 kilograms. The animal must be in a container not exceeding 55x40x20 centimeters. Larger animals cannot enter the cabin but may be transported in an appropriate container in the cargo hold’s air-conditioned area. Lufthansa allows the use of personal containers if they meet International Air Transport Association regulations. Containers must be large enough to allow the animal to stand and move around.
Therefore, when air shipping pets, besides preparing the necessary documents, understanding the airline’s specific regulations is also crucial to avoid unexpected issues.
