The Secret to a Fresh Dog in the Cold Winter
Bulldog
In the cold winter, dogs tend to bathe less frequently, which means dogs are more prone to body odor. In fact, reasonable exercise and balanced nutrition during dog care can prevent dog odor. Here are some small tips from the editor.
1. Cold Protection and Warmth: Dog owners should place dog beds away from drafts, keep the kennel dry, do not let pets stay outdoors overnight, and for short-haired small dogs, add thicker padding inside the bed.
2. Frequent Exercise: Exercise not only helps improve dogs’ immunity but also promotes fat burning, reducing fat accumulation caused by overeating fatty foods in winter. Dogs who exercise regularly are energetic and healthy.
3. Balanced Nutrition: With low winter temperatures, dogs consume a lot of energy, and normal dietary standards cannot meet their needs. Therefore, when supplying adequate protein food, also provide corn, rice, and other high-energy foods; add animal and vegetable oils if necessary.
4. Warmth When Going Out: As the weather cools, it becomes the season when dogs are susceptible to colds. Most dogs are not very afraid of the cold and do not need clothes when going out. However, for some breeds that are small in size and lack thick fur, like Chihuahuas and Miniature Pinschers, it is still necessary to dress them when going out.
