The Impact of Picky Eating on Pomeranians
Pomeranian (Detailed Introduction)

There are many reasons that cause dogs to be picky eaters. Besides illness-related causes, the owner's usual feeding habits account for a large part. Some owners treat their dogs like their own children and share all kinds of tasty food with them. This eventually causes the dogs to lose interest in dog food and similar items. However, picky eating has a significant impact on Pomeranians and must be corrected promptly.

Picky eating inevitably causes nutritional imbalances in dogs. If dogs are picky over a long period, they will more or less develop some health problems.

For example, feeding dogs only meat daily for several years will almost certainly cause them to suffer from a disease known as all-meat syndrome. This disease can lead to acute hemorrhagic enteritis, vomiting, dysentery, severe dehydration, and even death. Recently, cases caused by feeding beef have become increasingly common. In addition, there are oral diseases (tartar, purulent dental abscesses, periodontitis, stomatitis, etc.), which often lead to tooth loss and loosening of the lower jaw bones, skin diseases, bone lesions, hidden internal organ diseases, metabolic disorders, and various other illnesses. A common bone lesion is when bones become as thin as paper, making it difficult for the dog to move, and the spine develops abnormal curvature. Petting or picking the dog up becomes very painful. This disease can only be diagnosed in a hospital. However, picky eating is not only caused by feeding meat alone. Salted food, human leftovers, and certain foods (based on incorrect beliefs, such as feeding chicken breast daily to enhance the dog's coat color), although not immediately causing illness, continuous supplementation with calcium, bone meal, and other nutritional additives can also result in picky eating disorder in dogs.

A common mistake of dog lovers is trying to treat dogs like humans and feed them the same food. While understandable, such food only shortens the dog’s lifespan and does not benefit their health in any way.

Therefore, feeding dogs nutritionally balanced food can offer the following benefits:

       1. Maintain basic physical strength. 2. Normal development. 3. Enhance physical immunity. 4. Promote metabolism. 5. Increase coat shine and promote hair growth. 6. Maintain a perfect body shape.
