       For dogs, regular bathing and care is necessary because it not only makes their appearance look neater but is also greatly beneficial to their health. However, everything should be done in moderation; bathing too frequently is not helpful to their bodies and can lead to multiple issues such as excessive hair loss and poor skin resistance. Therefore, what we want to discuss is the harm caused by bathing dogs too often.

       Dogs rely on their entire coat for protection, so the sebaceous glands in their fur secrete oils that coat the whole body, forming a protective film against external pathogens. However, this oil naturally has a slight fishy odor, which modern people with sensitive noses find unbearable. The principle for bathing dogs should be to wash them only when they are both smelly and dirty. Under no circumstances should they be bathed every few days or even every day because this will wash away their protective oil layer. While the result may be clean, fragrant, and pleasing, their skin will become "fragile" and may even develop troublesome skin diseases.

       The more appropriate bathing method is about once every seven to ten days in summer and roughly every two weeks in winter. Bathing should depend on the dirtiness of the dog to determine the most reasonable timing. Puppies under two months old, elderly or weak dogs, and seriously ill dogs should not be washed with water; instead, they can be wiped with a warm moist towel or cleaned using dry shampoo powder or foam dry cleaners.

       Bathing too frequently not only accelerates hair loss but also greatly weakens their immune system, making them more susceptible to external harm and various diseases. Therefore, we must control the bathing frequency for dogs and not sacrifice their health for cleanliness.
