The degree to master when walking the dog
Husky (detailed introduction)
Actually, walking the dog is a big topic. Nowadays, many older generation owners walk their dogs for a long time to let them meet more dogs and make friends, but walking the dog also requires mastering a certain degree. Scientific feeding includes the aspect of walking the dog!
1. Daily walking time
Walking should be done daily; this is quite important. How long should you walk your dog each day to be most suitable? It depends on what kind of dog you have. Generally, for small dogs, daily walking time should be controlled around 20~30 minutes, while medium dogs only need about 30~40 minutes each day. If you raise a large dog that weighs seventy to eighty pounds or more, then usually an hour walk is needed every day.
2. Avoid sudden intense exercise
Some owners are very busy during weekdays and hardly have time to take their dogs out. On weekends or out of guilt, they take their dogs hiking or swimming, involving high amounts of exercise during these days off. Actually, exercise cannot be compensated for like that; sudden intense exercise can easily cause various discomforts in the dog's body due to lack of adaptation. If your dog is over 7 years old, this practice may even harm the dog's heart, spine, ligaments, and joints.
3. Do not let the dog run alongside vehicles
Some owners are relatively lazy and don’t like walking much. But dogs need walks, so what to do? Humans are intelligent and tool-using animals. They ride motorcycles or electric bikes, holding the dog’s leash in one hand and controlling the vehicle with the other, making the dog run along the vehicle. This may look like a good method, but actually, it’s not good for the dog. Except for some special dog breeds, dogs actually have little interest in running, especially long-distance running. Otherwise, walking the dog wouldn’t be called walking, but chasing the dog. Older dogs exercising like this can easily suffer heart damage.
