【Test】Is Your Dog Depressed?
Siberian Husky (Detailed Introduction)
In the past, owners may not have paid much attention to their dogs’ depression. They thought dogs only needed to eat, drink, and play every day, so depression wasn’t really a thing. In fact, dogs can indeed become depressed, and the number of depressed dogs is continuously rising. To find out if your dog is depressed, try this little test.
Does your dog show any of the following behaviors?
1. No matter how you try to engage, the dog shows no interest in the owner or toys, always appearing listless.
2. Timid, reacting strongly to any little disturbance outside.
3. Becoming lazy, lying in its bed all the time, unwilling to go for walks with the owner.
4. Avoids interaction with the owner or other dogs; hides when seeing other dogs.
5. Highly emotional; small issues cause agitation, and if provoked, may exhibit aggressive behavior.
6. Loss of appetite, weight loss.
7. Drinking less water; the water in the bowl seems never to be finished.
8. Severe shedding; even gentle brushing removes a lot of fur.
9. Always appears drowsy; even movements are slow.
If your dog exhibits more than four of these behaviors, the owner should pay attention. The dog may already be depressed, and you need to take measures to help it recover, such as spending more time playing with the dog at home or allowing it to interact more with other animals. If the depression is severe, it’s best to seek professional help to get your dog out of the shadows as soon as possible.
