【Test】A Simple Test for Dog Personality
Shiba Inu (detailed introduction)
Although a dog's personality is greatly related to its upbringing, innate personality also matters a lot. Because a dog's inherent personality greatly affects how easy or difficult it is to interact with it. A dog with a loyal and gentle temperament is definitely easier to raise than a rude and aggressive one, so we will introduce some simple methods to test dog personality.
1. Dog's Friendliness
When you approach a dog and try to pet it, observe the dog's reaction. If the dog remains calm and shows slight signs of affection, it indicates the dog is relatively friendly; on the contrary, if it barks loudly at you, it may be somewhat timid and irritable.
2. Whether Neurotic
Prepare an object that can make a loud noise, approach the dog slowly, then suddenly make the noise. If the dog quickly recovers after a short moment of panic, it shows the dog is relatively calm. On the other hand, dogs that continue barking non-stop or tuck their tail and hide in a corner are somewhat overly neurotic.
3. Tolerance
Pinch the dog's toes forcefully; the dog will scream in pain, but after that, if you pat it, it will quickly forgive you and continue playing with you, proving it is a good pet. If it barks loudly at you or even tries to bite, it indicates it tends to hold grudges.
4. Obedience
Roll a ball past the dog; when it picks up the ball (of course some dogs may not be interested in a ball), try to take the ball from its mouth. If it naturally gives you the ball, it means it is very obedient to you. If it bites the ball tightly, it shows strong possessiveness and self-awareness.
Of course, a dog's personality is not unchangeable. Even those with a poor temperament can be greatly improved with strict training from the owner, while dogs born with a better personality are naturally easier to approach and love.
