Seven Procedures Teach You Pet Grooming

Poodle (detailed introduction)
With the development of society and the improvement of people's living standards, pet grooming is no longer just about bathing. It has become increasingly professional, with various dog styles emerging, better services, and of course, rising prices. So how much do you really know about pet grooming? Below, the editor will explain the basic process of pet grooming.
1. Pet Grooming Care - Brushing Undercoat (Tool: Pin Brush): First, use a pin brush to comb the dog's undercoat to remove dead hair and mats, making the coat soft, neat, and shiny.
2. Pet Grooming Care - Combing (Tool: Steel Comb): After brushing the undercoat, use a steel comb to further comb through and check for small mats. If mats are not combed out before bathing, they are harder to remove after and shampoo won't penetrate thoroughly.
3. Pet Grooming Care - Bathing: When bathing your dog, choose a shampoo suitable for your dog's coat type. The water temperature is generally 35–45 degrees Celsius, with higher temperatures in winter. Typically, long-haired dogs bathe once a week, while short-haired dogs bathe every two weeks. Just go with what you prefer.
4. Pet Grooming Care - Blow Drying: After bathing, use a highly absorbent towel to dry most of the water from your dog, then use a blow dryer to fully dry the coat. While blow-drying, combing simultaneously helps make the coat naturally fluffy and beautiful.
5. Pet Grooming Care - Nail Trimming: Too long nails can affect walking, cause skeletal deformities, and lead to unattractive posture. In some cases, nails grow into the paw pads causing the dog great pain. Nail trimming seems simple but must be done carefully to avoid cutting too deep and causing bleeding. If bleeding occurs once, next time the dog will resist and become irritable when touching its paws.
6. Pet Grooming Care - Eye and Ear Cleaning: Dogs communicate with humans through their eyes. When a dog's eyes are uncomfortable, it will scratch with its paws, risking eye and corneal injury. Dogs' ear canals are prone to infections (especially long-eared dogs). Symptoms include frequent ear scratching, head shaking, and foul-smelling discharge, which are signs of ear disease. Regular eye and ear cleaning at grooming salons is necessary to prevent various eye and ear diseases.
7. Pet Grooming Care - Hair Trimming: Healthy dogs naturally like to stay clean and may lick themselves when their fur is messy. Therefore, regular combing is important, and periodic visits to grooming salons for hair trimming are necessary. For example, overly long hair around the hindquarters can affect defecation; long hair on the abdomen and legs can impede walking or get dirty easily; excessively long hair on the paws can cause slipping. Thus, all long-haired dogs should be trimmed regularly.
A brief introduction to the basic grooming process has been given. If speaking verbally, I can share more pet grooming tips, which I'll introduce one by one next time.
