Precautions When Switching Puppy Food to Adult Dog Food
If your dog is still a puppy, it usually eats puppy food, but as the dog grows bigger and becomes an adult, it needs to be fed adult dog food. Many new owners do not know what precautions to take when switching from puppy food to adult dog food, so let me introduce them to you.

Puppy food is specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of puppies. However, as the puppy grows and enters adulthood, due to changes in metabolism, puppy food no longer meets the daily needs. Therefore, the owner needs to switch the puppy's food.
There needs to be a transition phase when switching from puppy food to adult dog food. Although most breeds appear to be adult dogs at 6–8 months of age, they are still puppies. Their bones are still growing and becoming stronger; their bodies are continuously growing. Only after reaching 12 months (24 months for large breeds) do they no longer need extra calories and nutrition. At this time, it is appropriate to switch to adult dog food.
To avoid damaging their delicate digestive system, at the beginning of the switch, mix the new adult dog food into the puppy food they usually eat, then gradually increase the proportion of adult food over about 7–10 days.
