Most Dogs' Picky Eating Habits Develop from Puppyhood
Pekingese (detailed introduction)
In fact, if we observe carefully, we will find that many dogs' picky eating habits have already developed during puppyhood. For puppies, due to the large number of dogs in the same litter, picky eating is rare. Only when the owner raises a dog individually, bad eating habits are formed, leading to picky eating.
Puppies under three months can be fed four or even five times a day; from three to eight months, three meals a day are appropriate; and dogs older than eight months can reduce to two meals a day. Fully grown dogs only need one meal per day. During mealtime, let the dog develop the habit of eating attentively, generally limiting mealtime to within 15 to 20 minutes. After that, put the food away and only provide the next meal at the scheduled time; do not let dogs develop bad habits of eating whenever they want or expecting food if they refuse to eat now.
