Morphological Characteristics of the Silky Terrier

Silky Terrier (Detailed Introduction)
The Silky Terrier is a true “toy terrier,” it is relatively small, body length slightly longer than height, with a delicate bone structure but sufficient bone mass. This dog has a compact, small, and moderately long body, with an elegant and sturdy physique, capable of hunting household rodents. Its separated, straight silky hair gives it a particularly neat appearance.
The Silky Terrier’s head is strong, wedge-shaped, with moderate length; eyes are small, dark-colored, almond-shaped with a dark eye rim; ears are small, V-shaped, positioned high, and erect; the nose leather is black; teeth are even.
The neck and shoulders combine elegantly; the topline is level; forelegs are sturdy, straight, and fine-boned; pads are thick and elastic, toenails are hard and dark-colored; any dewclaws must be removed; thighs are muscular and solid.
The single-layer coat is straight and glossy. The adult dog’s coat falls along the body contours but should not be too close to the ground. Colors include blue and tan. The Silky Terrier’s hind legs are very powerful, giving a lively gait when walking.
