Lhasa Apso (detailed introduction)

　　The ideal male Lhasa Apso weighs 6-7 kilograms, females are slightly smaller. The ideal male Lhasa Apso's shoulder height is 25-28 cm, females are slightly smaller. Deep brown eyes that are neither too large and full nor too small and sunken.
　　Heavy head furnishings falling over the eyes, with abundant whiskers and beards; the head is narrow with a noticeable depression behind the eyes, not very flat but neither domed nor apple-shaped. The straight foreface has sufficient length. The nose leather is black; the distance from the nose leather to the eyes is about one-third of the distance from the nose leather to the occiput.
　　Ears: pendant, with rich feathered furnishings.
　　Mouth and muzzle: preferred bite is a scissors bite or a slight undershot bite. The muzzle length is moderate; square muzzles are very undesirable.
　　Body shape: the distance from shoulder joint to the hip is slightly longer than the shoulder height; ribs are well sprung, the loin is firm, and the hindquarters and thighs are very well developed.
　　Legs: front legs are straight; both front and rear legs are covered with abundant hair.
　　Paws: are round, cat-like, with many feathered furnishings; pads are thick.
　　Tail: has abundant feathered furnishings, carried in a spiral over the back, the tip may be tangled. A low carried tail is a serious fault.
　　Coat: heavy, straight, hard, not woolly or silky, of sufficient length, and very dense.
　　Color: any color is acceptable, with or without darker tips on ears and whiskers.
