       Many people also often care about dogs' vision issues. Compared to humans, dogs’ vision is about three-quarters of human eyesight. Among all animal species, dogs' vision ranks about medium. However, dogs have a special ability to detect moving objects; they can detect images moving at 70 lines per second, while normal television images move at about 60 lines per second.

       In dim light, dogs’ vision is also better than human vision. Dogs are naturally carnivores that survive by hunting, so they also have considerable eyesight in the dark. Dogs’ eyes can see short wavelength colors, so at sunrise or sunset, dogs see more clearly than humans. But in total darkness with no light at all, dogs also cannot see. Additionally, dogs have larger corneas, allowing more light to enter their eyes, making it easier to see objects in low light.

       Not only that, dogs’ sense of smell is about 1200 times more sensitive than humans’, and their hearing is about 16 times better than ours. Relying on these two advantages, they can effectively detect strangers far away.

       Is a dog's vision good? Actually, dogs' eyesight is not particularly good, but their more developed olfactory and auditory nerves enable them to detect things well and distinguish their locations.
