How to Train Border Collies
The smartest dogs in the world definitely belong to our country's Border Collies. Shepherd dogs can be considered the big boss in the dog world; they can lead Huskies (detailed introduction) astray or make Huskies well-behaved, depending on the mood of the shepherd dog. It can be said that there are no dumb shepherd dogs, only dumb owners. If you train it every day, it will listen to you very well. If you don’t train it for a long time, it will show rebellious behavior and disobedience. Let me share with you some experience on how to train Border Collies!
1. Rewards greater than punishments
When you first buy a shepherd dog, we should set up two mechanisms for it. Reward: After training the shepherd dog, you can appropriately give it some jerky snacks or play a frisbee game with it. Punishment: When the shepherd dog misbehaves, we should use some verbal reprimands or lightly hit it on the butt or pinch its fat to let it know the consequences of disobedience. Of course, as the nationally ranked number one Border Collie, it definitely won’t accept punishment easily, so my personal advice is that rewards should be greater than punishments. This is the best way to train.

2. Give the shepherd dog more confidence
When we go out to walk the dog, we should not let the shepherd dog run ahead; let it chase us from behind. When we reach a certain park, we can hold a frisbee to tease it and play. The purpose is to increase the dog’s reaction ability and interaction with the dog. When the dog is afraid to do certain things, we should encourage it beside and lead by example! When the shepherd dog has confidence, it will cooperate more enthusiastically during training.
3. How important clear commands are
A clear command is extremely important when training shepherd dogs. During training, we should not give many commands. Once many commands are given, the dog will not know how to complete the training goal. When training the dog, the command we give must be simple and clear, preferably with only one word. When the dog does things outside the training, we should show anger as much as possible to make the dog afraid, so it knows what it can and cannot do.
Border Collies are the smartest dogs ranked number one nationwide. We should let these top-ranked dogs perform their role. They should not be raised casually after purchase; this will only disgrace their number one title. They should live up to this title. When training shepherd dogs, we should first not be lazy but set an example! This is my experience, and everyone can use it as a reference.
