How to Reasonably Exercise Your Dog

Dogs easily become obese if they do not exercise for a long time
To ensure dogs have strong physiques, besides reasonably arranging their diet, it is also quite necessary to regularly arrange some exercise for them. Regular exercise not only helps dogs strengthen their muscles but also has certain benefits for nutrient absorption. If dogs do not exercise for a long time, obesity is bound to occur, which may make them more susceptible to a range of diseases.
However, exercising dogs requires finding appropriate methods, at the right time and place. Recently, a man was walking a dog on the emergency lane to exercise, and passing vehicles braked to avoid it, nearly causing an accident. Patrol police discovered and promptly stopped his inappropriate behavior. The man explained that the weather had been hot lately, so the dog didn’t like to move much, and he felt the dog needed exercise, so he brought it onto the highway. However, such a way of fitness is undoubtedly wrong. Regardless of whether the dog can exercise well, the safety issue poses a great hidden danger. This not only threatens the dog’s own safety but is also quite dangerous for drivers, so one must find the right methods to exercise dogs.
To exercise dogs reasonably, some appropriate exercise should be done daily. You cannot follow your own will every time, sometimes exercising several times a day, other times only once in a few days. The amount of exercise should be treated differently depending on the dog’s breed, age, and physical differences. For small dogs, the exercise amount does not need to be particularly large. Some small dogs, such as Chihuahuas, Pekingese, and Shih Tzus, may be overexerted and affect the heart if taken for long walks daily, so walking around at home is enough, though it is also fine to take them out for a little exercise. However, lively dogs like Toy Poodles and Miniature Dobermans require more exercise than other small dogs, so the exercise amount should be increased appropriately. As for medium and large dogs, they should meet certain exercise needs. Before leashed outdoor exercise, they should be allowed to move freely for a few minutes to relieve themselves. During exercise, they need to maintain the correct walking posture, keep an appropriate distance from the owner, and correct any habits of walking ahead, behind, to the left, or to the right.

Therefore, arrange reasonable fitness for your dog
When going out for exercise, the dog should be on a leash. Especially in crowded areas, if allowed to roam freely, it may be hit by a vehicle, disturb pedestrians, or fight with other dogs.
If going out at night, it is best to take them to places they often visit for exercise. If in the morning, the route can be changed appropriately to let the dog become more familiar with the surroundings. If the dog is found sniffing other animals’ excrement on the road, it must be stopped in time to avoid disease transmission. In a safe environment, dogs can be given some plastic rubber toys to play freely or be enticed to run.
It is certainly important to let dogs exercise their bodies, but it must not be done blindly. Finding the correct exercise methods allows dogs to be reasonably exercised. Incorrect methods not only fail to achieve fitness effects but also pose potential safety risks. Therefore, owners must keep certain precautions firmly in mind.
