　　A normally raised dog inevitably has to go through the elderly stage. At this time, the dog’s eating, sleeping, and activity habits have become fixed, so we should not disturb them. In addition, as dogs age, just like humans, all bodily functions decline; they become slower to react, and their hearing and vision weaken. 　　1. Dog Toilet Attention: For dogs kept indoors, move the dog’s kennel close to the designated spot for toileting, so the elderly dog can relieve itself conveniently at night. Some elderly dogs may develop heart disease; many dogs’ asthma is caused by heart disease.

　　2. Dog Hygiene Attention: Many dogs, when they get old, emit unpleasant odors from their mouths, ears, skin, and digestive organs. Bad breath is caused by food residue remaining on the teeth; the ear odor comes from wax and dirt accumulated over the years; the skin odor is caused by the buildup of grime over time; and the unpleasant smell from digestive organs is due to a decline in digestive function. For elderly dogs, as long as the owner pays attention to feeding management, the dog can still appear vigorous and continue to serve or be a companion to humans.

　　3. Dog Diet Attention: Dogs eating with fixed tableware and in fixed places tend to chew simply and swallow food whole, especially when several dogs share a single bowl. Therefore, each dog should have a fixed bowl and not swap bowls to prevent disease transmission. The bowl should be a bit bigger; add a moderate amount of food each time, allowing the dog to lick the bowl clean before adding more, cultivating the habit of leaving no food behind. Dogs have the habit of sleeping and eating in fixed locations, so feeding places should be relatively fixed.
