Bichon Frise (Detailed Introduction)

　　Dogs show some obvious signs when they are sick, and attentive owners can notice them. If dogs have any of the following symptoms, the owner should be cautious:
　　1. Rapid breathing, panting, coughing — upper respiratory tract narrowing, foreign body, pneumonia, emphysema, pulmonary edema, pleural effusion, heart disease, etc.
　　2. Pale mucous membranes and skin — dehydration, massive blood loss, or chronic long-term bleeding.
　　3. Mucous membranes and skin turn yellowish or gray — anemia, immune system disorder, liver and gallbladder disease, uremia.
　　4. Limb swelling, subcutaneous and abdominal fluid accumulation — the puppy is malnourished; liver, kidney, or heart disease.
　　5. Urine discoloration — darker and less in volume may indicate insufficient water intake. White and cloudy urine may indicate stones or inflammation. Dark brown or even bloody urine may indicate urinary stones or inflammation.
　　6. Abnormal vaginal discharge — normally female dogs are in heat for about two weeks; if cloudy white or dark brown discharge lasts more than two weeks, there may be uterine or bladder disease.
　　7. Suddenly improved appetite — endocrine abnormalities, such as adrenal hyperfunction.
　　8. Frequent urination and thirst — increased urine volume and frequency, constant thirst, uterine pus accumulation, or endocrine disorders.
　　9. Strange behavior and movement — bone, muscle, joint disease, or nervous system abnormalities.
　　10. Frequent scratching — skin disease, fleas, lice, mites, etc.
