Four Points to Note When Choosing a Pomeranian Dog Feeding a Pomeranian Dog
The Pomeranian is a compact, short-backed, active companion dog, a type of German Spitz, originally from Germany. It has a soft, dense undercoat and coarse outer coat. How should such an adorable dog be fed?
Choosing a Pomeranian
1. Pay attention to pure and excellent bloodlines:
The so-called purebred dog refers to offspring produced by mating males and females within the same breed and type that are genetically relatively stable and homogeneous with a clear origin (pure breeding). According to foreign kennel club regulations, to confirm that purebred Pomeranians are "fixed" and bred generation by generation without much change, pedigree certificates are usually issued to purebred Pomeranians. Therefore, if you buy imported Pomeranian puppies from abroad, you must ask for the pedigree certificate. When purchasing domestically, because there is no unified system established in our country, many dogs do not have pedigree certificates. In this case, you must check the quality of the parents and several generations before to clarify the lineage and analyze the puppy's quality.
2. Appearance characteristics of Pomeranian puppies:
1) Choose those with a round head and a short, compact body.
2) The coat should be soft, upright, and fluffy.
3) The two eyes and nose form an equilateral triangle; such a Pomeranian is called a beautiful-faced dog.
4) The front shoulder blades should be high, the chest well-developed, with straight front and back limbs and no dislocation.
5) The tail tip may be curled or not, but the tail base should be high, close to the back and neatly laid on the back.
6) The physique should be sturdy and feel heavy when held.
3. Pay attention to choosing a reputable professional kennel:
Generally, professional kennels have a certain scale and strength and good reputation. They have a group of excellent breeding males and females, which better guarantees the quality of the puppies they offer and provides more options.
4. How to select a puppy:
1) The puppy’s mouth should be flat, like a duck’s bill. This mouth shape will look beautiful when grown (this mouth shape refers to Pomeranian puppies over two months old, because the mouth shape changes after three months).
2) Eyes should not be too big or bulging, must be almond-shaped, coordinated with the head, black in color, and the eyes should not be too far apart.
3) The nose should be small and black, and the nasal bridge should be deep to look attractive when grown.
4) Ears should be small, not set too low, and the distance between the ears should not be too wide.
