【Food Guide】Homemade Fresh Meat Mooncakes for Dogs

Fresh Meat Mooncakes for Dogs
Mooncakes are essential foods for the Mid-Autumn Festival, and this sweet pastry is also very much loved by dogs, especially some fresh meat mooncakes. When owners can’t finish them, giving them to dogs seems quite appropriate. However, the fresh meat mooncakes we eat are not suitable for dogs. If you want your dog to enjoy tasty mooncakes, owners can make a fresh meat mooncake themselves—very simple!
Applicable Pets: Dogs
Ingredients Preparation:
Flour
250g
Eggs
2 pcs
Minced Chicken
500g
Coarse Grain Flour
200g
Pet Milk or Goat Milk
80g
Sugar-Free Red Bean Paste
Some
Steps:
1. Mince the chicken breast; you can also add chicken liver or other meats, but the total amount should reach 500G;
2. Mix all flours, meats, eggs, and milk into a dough. You don’t need to add all the flour at once; add gradually until a non-sticky dough forms.
3. Weigh the portions: if your mold is 50G, assign 30G dough and 20G filling; if your mold is 100G, then 60G dough and 40G filling. You can adjust but do not exceed the mold capacity.
4. Wrap the mooncakes, and when wrapping the last few, preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
5. After preheating, bake at 180 degrees for 50 minutes. When done, take out and brush a layer of egg wash, then put it back in the oven for 10 minutes (keep the oven preheated when brushing the egg wash).
6. Finished. Because dog mooncakes don’t have alkaline water or invert syrup like human mooncakes, they are harder and drier. The texture differs from human treats but is healthier and dogs like them harder.
Tips:
1. You can substitute with your dog’s favorite meat or organs. The filling can also include his usual treats or jerky—owners can DIY everything.
2. Dogs with lactose intolerance should not be given milk meant for humans!
