Five Things Dogs Must Experience in Their Lifetime, Pet Owners Take a Look
Dogs are man’s best friends; they bring us much joy and can spend wonderful times with us, serving well as human companions. Since we raise dogs, we must be responsible for them. There are some things a dog must go through in its short life. As a pet owner, how much do you know? Let’s take a look together with the editor,
1. Training Period
Once the dog becomes familiar with the new environment, owners can start training between 3 months and half a year old. This is the golden period for training in a dog's life. Training during this time is easy for dogs to grasp and get started with. The key for owners is to be clear with rewards and punishments and patiently guide them.
2. Bathing
Many dogs naturally fear water and resist baths, so owners should get them used to bathing when they are very young. Every time the approach should be gentle to avoid making them develop resistance to baths. If they feel scared, owners must comfort them promptly.
3. Resistance to New Environments
If you brought your dog home when it was very young, you’ll notice it initially strongly resists the new environment. The whole dog will tend to curl up and hide in a corner. Usually, in this situation, the best approach for owners is to let it be alone and not rush to interact with it. Doing otherwise may increase its fear.
4. Heat Period
Basically, dogs start their heat period between half a year and one year old. If owners do not want their dog to breed later, it’s best to neuter them early. Otherwise, during the first heat, if owners do not want the dog to breed, they should try to take it out less.
5. Curiosity About New Things
Have you noticed dogs sometimes act like curious babies? Wherever you take them, they want to explore around, their ears become very sensitive, and their tails keep wagging. This is due to dogs’ desire to explore themselves, so in this situation, owners should not forcibly pull them away.
