Feeding Key Points of Boston Terrier
Boston Terrier (detailed introduction)
The Boston Terrier looks similar to a small bull, with a sturdy body, especially its bright and lively eyes that give a very spirited impression. The feeding of Boston Terriers mainly relies on dog food, supplemented with human-edible food.
Feeding Key Points
In daily feed, small and medium-sized dogs require 200–250 grams of meat, and large dogs require 300–350 grams. However, Boston Terriers do not have large body types, and male and female dogs have similar body size and weight.
Meat should be boiled for 15–20 minutes, chopped finely, then mixed with cooked dry vegetable material and an appropriate amount of warm water before feeding.
The exact amount of feed per day can be adjusted according to the dog's size to achieve just the right amount. Too little will cause lack of nutrition and loss of lively and lovely posture and appearance; too much will cause obesity due to overnutrition, thus losing the charming appeal.
Feeding should be scheduled, with fixed quantity and place, and limited to be eaten within 15–25 minutes. Food and bowls should be removed thereafter, preventing procrastination and forming bad habits of irregular eating.
Every morning or evening, take it out for a walk or stroll, but avoid fast running and vigorous exercise, or else wheezing and shortness of breath may occur. If convenient, bring a bottle of purified water when going out.
It is recommended to cook eggs for the Boston Terrier two to three times a week. Egg whites should not be given to the dog, and egg yolks should never be swallowed at once but divided into three to four feedings.
