If you are full of love and want to care for those abandoned, homeless stray pets, you must first understand the related knowledge of adoption. After all, adopting a pet means taking responsibility for it.

There are three ways to adopt dogs for free: The first is to adopt dogs from animal shelters under the jurisdiction of the Public Security Bureau; the second is to obtain adoption information from relevant social organizations, many of which are public welfare grassroots organizations, such as animal protection associations and rescue stations; the last is rescue stations formed by many individuals who love animals spontaneously rescuing stray cats and dogs, all of which warmly welcome everyone to adopt.            

What preparations are needed before adopting a dog?

1. Take it to the pet hospital  

1. Ask the veterinarian to check its health and see if it has any illnesses. Dogs cannot speak, so you cannot know its past experiences or medical history. To avoid adverse effects on your family after adopting the dog, it is necessary to have the doctor examine the dog's health. 

2. Vaccinate it. Getting the rabies vaccine is the responsibility and obligation of every dog owner. For the safety of yourself, your family, and others, this vaccine absolutely cannot be skipped. 

3. Bathe it, trim its hair, and deworm it. The dog has been wandering outside for who knows how long. Dirty fur is secondary; the biggest fear is parasites living in the fur. Most pet hospitals now offer cleaning and deworming services for dogs. Letting them handle this naturally brings much peace of mind. 

2. Prepare daily用品 for the dog

Essential for daily dog walks  Though using a leash limits a dog's movement, it guarantees the dog’s safety and prevents it from disturbing passersby.  

2. Dog’s tableware  

The basics are one bowl for water and one bowl for dog food  

3. Dog cleaning supplies  

Dogs need regular baths(ideally once a week). Dog fur is different from human hair. To ensure the fur is smooth and shiny, it is best to buy dog-specific shampoo and brushes. Different colored dogs require different shampoos, so please pay attention when purchasing.  

4. Dog food  

Although dogs can eat leftovers, this causes a strong smell on the dog and the nutrition might not be guaranteed. It's better to buy specialized dog food, which is more convenient and hygienic.
