Do Poodles Bite Their Owners? Generally They Do Not
More and more people are raising dogs, and the variety of dog breeds is increasing. However, we can still often see news reports about people being bitten by dogs. So, do gentle and mild-tempered dogs also bite people? Poodles are a type of dog with a relatively mild temperament that many of us often choose to raise. As a gentle-type dog, do poodles also tear or bite their owners?
Actually, any dog can bite people, biting is a natural instinct of dogs. Although poodles are a gentle breed, they can still attack and bite under special circumstances. Therefore, we need to take good care of the dog's emotions and also follow proper raising rules to prevent dogs from biting. Under normal care or in general cases, poodles usually do not bite because their mild temperament makes their emotions and reactions gentle. However, if we raise them improperly causing them to exhibit aggressive behavior, they may bite as well.
The poodle breed lives with humans but still has a wild side. For dogs, guarding territory or survival is essential. They can protect themselves or defend their territory through biting to prevent weaker individuals from bullying them. Although dogs now live with humans, when dogs feel pressure or fear, they can still bite.
If we are overly submissive to dogs or indulge them when they act coquettishly, dogs might think they are dominant. Without strict discipline, they may develop the bad habit of biting. Therefore, we need to cultivate in them from an early age the awareness that they do not need to dominate others and should be obedient. Humans have strong abilities, and as long as we cultivate their awareness not to bite or help them develop good habits during teething, and remind people not to provoke dogs, dogs will generally not bite.
