       For the sake of the dog's body, in winter when the dog sleeps, we must ensure proper warmth. So do dogs need a blanket when sleeping? Actually, the softest part of a dog is its belly because the belly has the least amount of fur. That's why we often see dogs sleeping lying on their belly. Therefore, unless in special circumstances, it is not necessary to cover them with a blanket.

       Generally, it is not necessary to prepare a separate blanket for pet dogs. In fact, a dog's belly is most sensitive to cold, so it's best to enhance the dog's bed to ensure it lies comfortably. Also, the dog bed should avoid drafts. After doing these, the dog will grow healthily.

       Of course, if the dog has special physical conditions, such as being sick, then you can cover it with a blanket to prevent catching a cold. The blanket does not need to be too thick; otherwise, if it’s too heavy, it will make the dog feel uncomfortable. Another point to note is that dog blankets and covers should be frequently aired out and sun-dried, which can effectively kill some bacteria and ensure the dog’s health.

       So if the dog is in completely good health, just make sure its belly does not get cold because its fur coat is the best blanket. If the dog is unwell, we can add a blanket for an extra layer of protection.
