Care Knowledge of Belgian Tervuren Dog
Belgian Tervuren Dog (detailed introduction)

The Belgian Tervuren is a herding dog. Its coat is neither too long nor too short, but dirt and dust will stick to the fur. To keep the coat clean and tidy, daily grooming is essential. It is best to use a wooden comb or pet-specific comb.
  Care Knowledge
In spring and autumn, give it a bath every 2-3 weeks. During the hot summer, bathe it about every 5 days. In cooler seasons, immediately dry the coat with a towel after bathing and then use a hairdryer to dry thoroughly to prevent catching a cold.
Every 3-5 days, clean its earwax, dental plaque, eye discharge, and dirt between the toes. Also, wash the eyes with 2% boric acid solution to prevent conjunctivitis.
Claws should be trimmed every few days.
In cold seasons, feed the dog warm food, but never hot food. In normal seasons, feed food at room temperature or slightly warm, avoiding cold food. You can also feed some room temperature yogurt to enhance digestion.
If the dog has excessive internal heat, use chrysanthemum tea instead of drinking water. In summer, substitute drinking water with mung bean soup to relieve heat.
For elderly dogs, pay special attention to protecting the teeth by regularly feeding coarse grain biscuits to clean teeth.
Pay attention to hygiene: in winter baths, ensure a warm environment, and after bathing, the coat must be dried by hairdryer or in a warm, dry place. Make sure areas like the corners of eyes, ears, mouth corners, toes, and anus are thoroughly cleaned and dried. In summer baths, avoid hot and stuffy temperatures and avoid bathing at the hottest time at noon. Avoid cold wind and air conditioning when the coat is not yet dry.
Daily moderate walks and sunlight exposure are necessary. Avoid strenuous exercise. Provide clean fresh food and clean drinking water.
The resting environment should be comfortable, warm, clean, quiet, and ventilated. Regularly disinfect and sun-expose the dog's bedding to kill bacteria. Provide a good resting environment.
For owners living in high-rise buildings, try to avoid excessive stair climbing as it is harmful to the dog's joints and lumbar spine.
