What Can Cats Eat, Cat Food? Dog Food? Rice?
Cats used to be perceived as rather aloof animals, but now, somehow, after becoming clever, they are no longer so aloof and have even become a bit cute. Especially many men living alone like to keep a kitten to accompany themselves, and men especially pamper their cats, wanting to give them all the best. But as a cat owner, do you really understand what kind of diet is best for cats? What foods can cats eat, and which are forbidden?
Cats have quite high requirements for their diet. Sometimes when the owner is eating, the cat stares intently beside them. However, it’s best not to feed cats human food because it contains too many seasonings, and the flavors are too strong for cats. Cats can’t tolerate this, which is why they may get food poisoning after eating human food. So preparing food for cats follows the same principle: the taste should not be heavy. Friends preparing to raise cats must memorize this knowledge well.
Cats can eat fruits and eggs, but it’s better to eat fruits sparingly because small animals’ digestive systems aren’t as good as ours, so they need easily digestible food. As for meat, it is recommended to buy beef for cats and boil it in plain water. Cats should not eat raw meat because bacteria in the raw meat are harmful. When boiling, just use plain water without seasoning. Remember not to choose meat with bones; just plain chunks are fine. Eggs should also be cooked thoroughly; the yolk shouldn’t be too much, and no seasoning is needed when cooking.
Many people probably think cats love fish or only like fish, but cats should not eat fish all the time because long-term consumption can lead to vitamin B1 deficiency. Although fish is nutritious, cats may not absorb these nutrients well, and in severe cases, it can cause cramps or death. So overall, fish can be eaten but not frequently. When feeding fish, it should be cooked thoroughly and preferably fresh. Steaming the fish in a water bath is best to prevent loss of nutrients.
