Tricks to Teach Cats to Defecate It's Most Important to Seize the Timing
After one to three months of birth, when kittens start eating solid food, defecation training can begin; as long as the timing of training is seized well, the kitten can easily remember it.
1. Find a “convenient” good spot First, place the litter box in a fixed, secluded location, because crowds will make the kitten embarrassed. When the kitten's tail rises and it shows a squatting action, this indicates it wants to relieve itself—quick! Promptly put the kitten into the litter box to let it know that this is the place to poop. Soon, after repeating this two or three times, the cat will learn where to relax when it wants to relieve itself.
2. Fight the smell If the cat urinates or defecates randomly, never apply harsh measures like “You, you, you…” grabbing it to spank its bottom as a punishment for misbehavior. This will actually backfire, because cats are attracted by the smell and think you are telling them that this place is the fixed toilet. Oh! That will cause a big problem. At this time, thoroughly clean the area to eliminate the smell while patiently continuing to train it to use the fixed litter box area. Of course, kittens with their mother are happy; if a mother cat is leading her young, we don’t need to trouble ourselves.
The loving cane! Oh, too violent? Don't misunderstand, this is not to tell everyone how to hit cats! It’s about appropriate handling methods when cats misbehave.
1. Rules are rules; do not change them at will. When the owner sets rules, they must be consistent—no hugging the cat on the dining table today and then shooing it off tomorrow. This will confuse the cat.
2. Principle of punishment—only punish in the act.
3. Establish oral reprimand authority. If the cat has been living with people for some time, especially if it recognizes its own name, it will be sensitive to the owner's tone. When you find the cat misbehaving, you should scold it firmly, sternly, and simply face-to-face; the cat will usually become alert.
4. Sound intimidation. Some naughty cats are difficult to train effectively. At this time, you need to be clever, for example, by scaring them with noises, like clapping loudly in front of them, or using cheering horns from sports games and election campaigns. Use it only when catching the cat red-handed; the cat will freeze or run away. Keep the cheering horn at least one meter away from the cat and not pointing at its head, as too strong a shock is harmful to its health.
5. Portable weapon: toy water gun. This is a recognized very effective method, especially when there is some distance from the caught-in-the-act cat! Once you find the cat climbing the screen window, fishing out of the aquarium, or jumping onto the countertop, don’t hesitate, give it a shot! Use only a small toy water gun; some large water guns have too strong of a water stream and can hurt the cat’s eyes if sprayed on the head; plus it will wet the house. Some suggested BB guns are effective, but even toy BB guns have unpredictable harm, so their use is not recommended.
6. Physical punishment is unwise behavior. Firstly, whether the punishment target is a person or a cat, it is unwise behavior and should be avoided as much as possible. This causes the cat to fear the owner. The cat obeys superficially in front of the owner but will cause trouble when the owner is not around, treating obeying rules as merely dealing with the owner. Excessive physical punishment easily causes mental stress in cats, they may become timid and afraid of people, or even take revenge. In extreme cases, the cat becomes a poor abused animal.
