　　Short-haired cats like being held, but long-haired cats often escape instantly from your arms no matter what. Because of this, try to hold your cat as much as possible from kittenhood. However, don’t hold your cat persistently to the point it becomes annoyed; never force it.

　　Sometimes play with your cat by tossing balls or teasing it while stroking to engage in tactile communication. If the owner lives alone or the family is small, you can often invite friends who like cats to your home, letting the cat experience interacting with strangers.

　　3. Timid cats find it hard to develop trust in people

　　If the owner lives alone and the cat is home alone during the day, tactile interaction after coming home becomes even more important. Some owners even talk to their cats using recorded phone messages when leaving the house to help the cat get used to human voices. Therefore, daily contact and giving great care are essential.
