Some Introduction to Medication for Cat Gastroenteritis
Ragdoll Cat
1. Regulate the Digestive System
Recommended medications: lactase tablets, multi-enzyme tablets, probiotic tablets, Micol animal preparation, Lizhu Intestinal Comfort, Zhengchangsheng and other probiotics. These help regulate the digestive tract flora in cats.
2. Anti-inflammatory
If regulating the digestive system shows no significant effect after three days, consider eliminating intestinal inflammation in cats.
There is an issue regarding the choice of anti-inflammatory drugs here: 99% of intestinal infections are caused by bacilli, and the best drugs against bacilli are sulfa gentamicin, kanamycin, etc. Among them, gentamicin is preferred for treating intestinal inflammation in cats because its larger molecular weight prevents oral absorption by internal organs.
It should be noted that after administering anti-inflammatory drugs, probiotics such as lactase tablets or Mamiai should be given half an hour later to aid cats in restoring digestive function. (Source:PetsZone)
