Pay Attention to Cats' Mammary Tumors
Ragdoll Cat
◆Causes and Symptoms◆
Female cats over 10 years old are prone to mammary cancer, with 90% being malignant. Initially, small hard lumps that are not painful appear in the mammary area on the abdomen, gradually growing larger and harder, breaking through the skin, and causing bleeding when the cat licks them.
◆Treatment and Care◆
Mammary cancer can metastasize to the lungs, so surgery should be performed immediately upon discovering lumps or tumors. After surgery, help the cat recover strength and prevent recurrence. Since this disease easily spreads to the lungs, regular X-ray examinations are necessary. Cats spayed before their first heat rarely develop mammary cancer, so if you do not want your cat to breed, spaying early is recommended. (Source:PetsZone)
