Note: Method to Calculate Cat Pregnancy Period
Folded Ear Cat
The cat's pregnancy period starts from the day of mating and generally lasts about 65 days. However, different cat breeds have slight variations in pregnancy length. Long-haired and purebred cats have a pregnancy period longer by one or two days; short-haired and domestic cats have a pregnancy period shorter by one or two days. Overall, the margin of error does not exceed 7 days.
Since we sometimes cannot accurately determine the mating date of the cat, the pregnancy period can be calculated from the day the female cat's estrus ends. Typically, the female cat will stop showing signs of heat within two or three days after successful mating. That means the cat's due date is about 63 days after the female cat stops showing heat symptoms, allowing us to prepare for the pregnant cat's delivery in advance based on this timing.
