Methods to Train Cats to Behave

We all know that pet dogs are very intelligent, and after a period of training, they become obedient and well-behaved. However, for pet cats, making them obedient is always a more difficult task. Of course, if the owner can master the correct methods of training cats, it is believed that after a while, the pet cat will also become obedient and well-behaved.
1. The best time to train a cat to obey is after the cat is 2-3 months old. At this time, the cat's body development is complete, and its personality is forming. Therefore, cats at this stage are the most receptive to training. For daily training, it is best to train before each feeding. Owners can train 2-3 times a day, but each training session should last about 10-15 minutes. Avoid long training sessions to prevent the cat from feeling bored and tired.
2. During the training process, the trainer should proceed step-by-step and not rush. The training environment should be quiet. The training actions should not be too sudden and no loud noises should occur. Cats are very sensitive to loud sounds or sudden movements, which might scare them away or make them hide, unwilling to accept training.
3. During training, it is best for trainers to use a combination of multiple training methods. Various stimuli and techniques should be organically combined. At the same time, the trainer’s attitude should be gentle and not overly harsh to force the cat to accept training. Otherwise, the cat may develop aversion to training, affecting the completion of the entire training plan.
4. Since pet cats do not have the same intelligence and understanding ability as humans, the trainer must have enough tolerance and understanding during the training process. Some behaviors of the pet cat should be met with patience and understanding, then gradually train and correct the pet cat’s bad or wrong habits, helping the cat become more obedient and sensible.
