Eight out of ten cats have ear mites. We know that severe ear mites not only harm the cat’s physical health but also cause the cat’s body to emit an odor, making it difficult for people to approach it. Once ear mite symptoms appear, owners should find ways to completely cure the disease to help their cats regain a healthy body.

First, prepare professional medicine and treatment tools. For example, cotton swabs, baby oil, ear mite treatment drops, syringes, towels, etc. Remember, these items are essential—none can be missed.

First, dip a cotton swab in a small amount of baby oil and gently wipe the cat’s ears; or directly drop a few drops of baby oil into the ear canal to soften the dirt inside, then gently wipe clean with a cotton swab. During the process, hold the cat in your arms, gently fold back the outer ear, and then use the cotton swab to clean it. Be gentle and careful when wiping to avoid hurting or injuring the cat.

Second, after cleaning, use a syringe to draw a suitable amount of ear mite treatment drops and drop them into the cat’s ear canal. After dropping in the medicine, hold the cat’s head steadily with both hands for a few seconds to allow the medicine to flow deep into the ear canal. Then, fold the ear back, and gently massage the outer ear canal and base of the ear with both hands to help the medication’s components take effect.

Note: After treating one ear, use the same method to treat the other ear.

Reminder: Ear mites are contagious, so while treating the cat’s ears, disinfect the environment as well to prevent disease transmission. If the symptoms are severe and conditions allow, it is best to isolate the cat with ear mites for treatment to prevent spreading the disease. This will make the treatment more effective.
