Training a cat to roll over is very simple. First, have the cat stand on the floor. The trainer gently presses the cat down and makes it roll over while giving the "roll" command.

    Repeat this many times. When the cat can roll over on its own under the owner’s guidance, immediately reward it with food and affection. Give a reward each time the action is completed thereafter.

　　As the movement becomes more proficient, appropriately reduce the number of rewards until they are discontinued.

    Once a conditioned reflex is formed, the cat will immediately perform the roll over action whenever it hears the "roll" command.
