Let the Cat Learn to Obey

Exotic Shorthair Cat
Not even listening to the owner, doing whatever they want—many people think this is the greatest charm of cats, and this is understandable. But since they live with people, giving cats some basic education is still necessary.
Because cats are different from dogs, they do not have the habit of obeying humans, so some believe that training cats is impossible. Actually, that’s not true. Indeed, cats can’t learn to shake hands or sit still like dogs, but they can realize that they live together with their owners and maintain a good relationship with them. Even cats feel comfortable this way.
The first step in training a cat is to make it respond to its own name immediately. The most effective way is to call the cat's name before feeding; once it understands that its name is called whenever there is food, it naturally remembers the pronunciation of its own name.
Don’t let your cat be “stranger-shy,” cultivate your cat into a “lover” cat.
Frequently holding and playing with your cat is very important. Cats are naturally cautious and tend to ignore unfamiliar strangers or even run away. Some may think that as long as the cat has a close relationship with its owner, that is enough. However, it’s ultimately a joyful thing if people around also recognize and like the cat you love. Cat personalities vary widely, so cats that are often held and played with from a young age tend to enjoy closeness with people. But don’t annoy your cat by always holding it or force it to be held.
Sometimes play with your cat, throw toys, or tease it while stroking to have skin contact. If the owner lives alone or has few family members, friends who like cats can be invited over often to let the cat experience interacting with strangers. (Source:PetsZone)
