How to Train Cats to Use the Flush Toilet
Ragdoll Cat
Although cats are very clean, if not trained from a young age, they can still make themselves messy. Especially when cats have feces or urine stuck all over them, causing a bad smell, so it is very necessary to train cats to use the flush toilet for urination and defecation. Intelligent cats can easily learn this through proper training.
Place a plastic board or wooden board under the toilet seat ring, and spread an appropriate amount of sand, ashes, or sawdust on the board as bedding. When you notice signs that the cat wants to excrete, take the cat to the flush toilet. Cats will easily discover this toilet with bedding and will urinate or defecate on it. Once the cat gradually forms the habit of using the toilet with bedding, reduce the bedding by half. The cat will quickly understand to urinate and defecate on the toilet seat ring. At this point, remove the plastic or wooden board, and the cat will develop the habit of excreting on the flush toilet. During the training process, it is especially important not to disturb or obstruct the cat when it is excreting on the flush toilet. Some cats may accidentally slip and fall into the toilet bowl, which can cause them to avoid using the toilet. In that case, training must start over until the cat learns to urinate and defecate on the toilet.(Source:PetsZone)
