How to Stop Cats That Like to Play with Wires
1. As soon as you find your pet cat touching or playing with wires, stop it immediately. Remember, for this kind of fundamental issue, your attitude must be firm. Use warnings or scolding to instill fear in the cat so that it dares not touch or bite the wires again.
2. Usually, you can buy some toys that cats like to play with (for example, balls, chew toys, scratching boards, etc.) to attract the cat’s attention and help it pass boring times. When cats have toys, they generally won’t think about touching wires, so owners can be less worried.
3. When arranging wires, you should consider the "impact of wires on cats" and properly organize those wires and plugs. For example, you can use wire covers to wrap wires, so cats cannot bite the wires. It is best to buy sockets that can be "closed," so cats cannot access the sockets, eliminating the risk of electric shock. (Some owners also use tape to wrap wires to prevent cats from playing with or biting them.)
PS: When the owner leaves the house, they can unplug the home’s electrical wires and power sources to reduce the risk of cats touching wires. Sometimes, even if cats bite the wires, because the wires are not powered, it won’t cause significant harm to the cat.
