How to Prevent Cats from Being Active at Night

Cats like to be active at night, but nowadays most cats are pets. If allowed to roam at night, during hunting, mating, and fighting, they may get injured or dirty themselves. Being active at night is unhealthy for cats and affects indoor hygiene. Such cats tend to be very wild and difficult to manage. If they bring back infectious diseases, it could also endanger the owner's health. Therefore, household cats should not be allowed to roam at night.
Correcting a cat’s nighttime roaming habit must start when they are kittens. When beginning training, use a cage to tame the cat, letting them out during the day for indoor activities, but never outdoors; at night, put them back in the cage. Over time, this will become a habit, and even if the cage is removed, the cat will not go out at night. If this is difficult, medication can be used at night to induce sleep, and a small amount of stimulant during the day. Within a short time, the nighttime roaming habit will be corrected. Also, avoid letting the cat outdoors for prolonged periods or allowing free access, as this may cause the bad habit to recur.
