How to Judge if a Cat Has Worms Inside, Carefully Observe These Behavioral Habits
Now some foreign breed pet cats have already entered the Chinese market. Some people not only like pet dogs but also enjoy keeping pet cats to pass their free time and have a companion when feeling lonely. Sometimes we humans get minor illnesses, so it’s even more so with small animals. But how can we judge if a cat has worms inside? From which signs can we tell?
First: We can look at the cat's teeth inside its mouth. We gently stroke the cat's head, softly open its mouth, and then we can see its teeth. When observing carefully, if the base of the cat's teeth is pink, it means the cat does not have worms inside. But if the base is white, the cat very likely has worms. At this time, we should promptly take the cat to a veterinary hospital for treatment.
Second: Carefully look at the cat’s fur. Normally, cats without worms have fur that feels and looks smooth. But for cats with worms, their fur is usually coarser and appears dry on the surface. This condition may be caused by malnutrition and worms inside the cat.
Third: Cats are generally lively and active. If you notice your cat frequently vomiting, do not take it lightly. It may be due to intestinal worms causing repeated dry heaving, which is one of the major symptoms of worms inside the cat.
Fourth: Observe the cat’s eating habits. Normally, cats eat regularly. If you find your cat becomes picky, clearly reduces its food intake, or sometimes its belly appears much bigger than usual, this also indicates a possible worm infection inside. You should immediately take the cat to the vet to prevent other problems.
Most cats are quite active and very affectionate. If one day your cat no longer sticks to you as before and starts sleeping excessively, appearing listless all day, as the owner, you should be cautious and take it to the veterinary hospital for diagnosis!
