Cats have strong personalities, and if they are not trained, it is hard for them to adapt to living with humans. Therefore, cats need to be trained to be obedient from a young age. Although this suppresses a cat’s natural nature, it makes the cat more docile.

Simply put, if you want your cat to be obedient and well-behaved, the method owners can use is a combination of kindness and strictness. When cats are disobedient, hitting will not solve any problems; on the contrary, it may have a counterproductive effect. However, necessary loud scolding is important so the cat understands it did something wrong and that the owner is angry. Yet, in dealing with a disobedient cat, the balance between kindness and strictness must be well controlled. It should not cause the cat to feel fear or emotional imbalance but achieve a deterrent effect.

First, when facing a disobedient cat, the owner must no longer indulge the cat without principles; this only makes the cat more unruly. In daily life, the owner should train the cat from a young age to develop good habits and proper attitudes toward people. The owner should guide and train the cat to complete the training content, while also giving it care and attention. This allows the cat to regard the owner as its master and obey them. Make your commands carry authority and deterrence for the cat.

When the cat misbehaves, the owner must stop it promptly and not wait too long to discipline the cat. Cats have poor memories and will quickly forget their behavior. If the owner punishes them after a long delay, the cat may feel confused and think the owner dislikes or wants to abandon it, causing psychological trauma.

When the cat makes a mistake, the owner should scold it. After the cat stops the behavior, the owner should then give appropriate petting or food rewards. This makes the cat clearly distinguish that when it misbehaves, it gets scolded and punished, but when it stops, it receives the owner’s care and tasty rewards. This method changes the cat’s behavior habits to avoid repeated actions that upset the owner. (Source:PetsZone)
