Essential Medicines for Raising Cats at Home

1. 5% iodine tincture, 2% gentian violet, 3% hydrogen peroxide, 2% boric acid solution, potassium permanganate (prepared to 0.1% concentration when used), New Clean (prepared to 0.1% concentration when used), Lysol (prepared to 3%–5% concentration when used), etc. These are mainly used for environmental disinfection and treating cat scratches or wounds;
2. Antiemetics and antidiarrheal drugs, such as metoclopramide, atropine, chlorpromazine, bismuth subnitrate, and silica gel silver tablets; also digestive aid tablets like multi-enzyme tablets and yeast tablets, which are often useful;
3. Antiparasitic drugs, such as levamisole, fenbendazole, praziquantel, and niclosamide, mainly used to expel parasites inside the cat;
4. Antibiotics and antipyretic analgesics, such as penicillin, kanamycin, gentamicin, cephalosporins, aminopyrine, and analgin. Use of these drugs requires medical experience;
5. Antifungal and dermatological medicines, such as griseofulvin, nystatin, clotrimazole, Piyan Kang, and Daktarin cream.
