For sick cats, the first step is to limit their activity and choose a quiet, comfortable place for them to rest fully. Even if they do not want to eat, provide clean drinking water or isotonic glucose saline. This approach can sometimes yield good results. Groom the sick cat’s coat once daily, but do not prolong the grooming sessions. If the nostrils or eyelids have dried scabs or secretions, use a cotton ball moistened with saline to gently wipe them. After wiping, apply some skin protection cream to reduce irritation from secretions and keep the skin moisturized.

For cats with severe conditions or those unable to stand, frequently help them change their lying position to prevent bedsores. Wash and dry any forearms or hind limbs soiled with feces or urine with warm water immediately. Change their bedding frequently.
