Analysis of why cats like to imitate

Russian Blue Cat

As everyone knows, cats and dogs seem naturally unfriendly. Except for some cats and dogs raised together from an early age who can adapt and live peacefully, most cats and dogs seem naturally incompatible. In daily life, it’s often seen that if a dog is chasing its tail to look for a cat to play with, it will either get scratched by the cat or the cat will be chased by the dog up the wall or into a tree. Why is that? The main reason is because they don’t understand each other’s language, or even interpret it oppositely. It’s like a dog speaking English: "Good morning!" but the cat misunderstands and thinks, "The cat is weak, so is it insulting me?"

  Here are two examples:

When a dog lifts its paw to swipe at another, it is in a happy mood and wants to play. Cats, on the contrary, generally see a cat raising its claw as a sign of alertness and a symbol of attack. (Dogs mostly use their mouths to attack, while cats mostly use their claws.)

When a cat is under the sun, being petted by a person, and in a good mood, it makes a purring sound. Dogs, on the other hand, when they make a huffing sound, it is usually accompanied by raised fur and indicates anger, representing an intent to attack and threaten the other.

When cats and dogs meet for the first time, the dog will actively approach the cat. An adult cat absolutely cannot accept the dog’s enthusiastic reception and may even extend its sharp claws to harm the dog, causing the dog’s displeasure and leading to mutual resentment. Generally, adult cats and dogs are more vigilant, while kittens and puppies are more naive and easier to get along with. Therefore, if you want to raise both cats and dogs, you must ensure that one of them is young. Also, when they start living together, it’s best to keep the dog leashed to maintain a certain distance from the cat. Only after they are familiar with each other’s scent should you release the dog. Of course, if both are kittens and puppies, that’s even better. You don’t need to worry, they will peacefully accompany you for life!
