Why Use Specialized Shampoo for Dogs

Labrador Retriever
Owners who bathe their dogs themselves usually use their own body wash for their dogs, but this is unreasonable. Although this does clean, it also causes some harm to the dog. So why use specialized shampoo for dogs? This is because dog shampoo is designed according to the dog's own characteristics and generally has no adverse effects on dogs.
We need to know that dogs and humans have very different body structures; the pH value of human skin and dog skin differ—human skin is weakly acidic, while dog skin is weakly alkaline. Therefore, human shampoo and body wash cannot be used on dogs. Many human products may cause allergic reactions in dogs, greatly affecting their health and possibly weakening their skin's resistance over time.
In addition, many pet shampoos and body washes now contain antibacterial and insecticidal formulas that can treat and prevent fungal infections, mites, and lice in dogs. Choosing high-quality dog shampoo can improve their skin condition because dog shampoos have more specialized formulas and higher production costs than human products; cheap products often mean inferior quality and lack professionalism. This is why it is necessary to use specialized shampoo for dogs.
Compared to human body wash, dog-specific shampoo costs more but is much better in quality. It is specially designed for dogs, so it can be said to be a "targeted treatment," minimizing irritation to the dog's skin.
