Why Do Few People Raise Pugs? What Are the Reasons for Not Raising Them?
Do you know pugs? Many people describe their appearance as ugly-cute. Indeed, if you only look at the face, this dog looks quite ugly, but from a distance, you will find that although a bit ugly, it is also quite cute. Therefore, many people like this dog. However, not many raise this breed nowadays. Why do few people raise pugs? There are mainly the following reasons.
1. Prone to illness

Almost every dog has genetic defects, and the pug's genetic defect manifests in the respiratory tract. When the seasons change, this dog easily develops respiratory diseases. No matter how carefully it is raised, getting sick during seasonal changes is basically unavoidable. However, these illnesses are not serious; mild cases recover on their own without medicine.
2. Looks dirty
Pugs look comparatively dirty. They are a breed that likes to drool and have runny noses. You can often see them dripping saliva and nasal mucus, which indeed looks not very clean, so they require frequent cleaning. Also, they like to snore while sleeping, which is caused by their respiratory structural defects, making them seem noisy when asleep.
3. Stubborn personality
Pugs have a somewhat stubborn personality and are very willful. They don’t like to listen to their owner much and usually do whatever they want. Of course, this doesn’t mean they cannot be trained; their intelligence is not low, just their personality is quite stubborn. Therefore, owners need to be very patient and loving when raising them. While many owners are loving, not many are patient, resulting in fewer people raising them.
The above are the reasons why few people raise pugs. Pugs look okay, and their ugly-cute appearance is liked by many girls, but due to their susceptibility to illness during raising, their stubborn personality, and their tendency to drool, there truly are not many who raise this breed. After all, without enough patience, it’s hard to raise this dog well. Of course, if you have sufficient patience, raising one is also a very good choice.
