What to Do If Your Dog Likes to Bark Randomly
Dogs bark when they are puppies due to hunger, fright, or pain, but after they reach 8 months old, their personality gradually changes, and the dog's instincts make them increasingly alert. Even a slight disturbance can cause loud barking. Especially some small dogs and those without specialized training bark indiscriminately, even at guests visiting or passersby. Some neurotic dogs can keep barking nonstop in front of guests, embarrassing the owner. Therefore, it is necessary to train dogs to restrict barking.
Normally, when the dog barks inappropriately, the owner should issue a command such as "Stop" or "Don't Bark" forbidding the dog from barking. If the dog obeys and quiets down, the owner should immediately praise the dog and have it sit by their side, stroking its head and back as a reward. If the dog disobeys and continues barking, it is acceptable to lightly tap the dog's nose as a punishment. After several trainings, the dog will understand the owner's emotions and commands and will not bark arbitrarily. For some stubborn dogs, there is now an imported electronic collar which hangs on the dog's neck. When the dog barks randomly, the owner only needs to press the remote control, and the collar will emit a stimulating current, making the dog uncomfortable and stopping the barking. After a few times, this can form a conditioned reflex.
