What to Do If a Dog's Teeth Are Yellow? It May Indicate a Health Problem
Pet dogs are good friends in our lives. They silently protect us and guard us when we are lonely and sad. Pet dogs hold a very high place in our hearts. We pay special attention to our dogs' excretion, diet, and other aspects. When it gets cold, we even buy clothes for our dogs. Dogs are very sensitive to hygiene; when they encounter places or food with bacteria, they may have diarrhea or allergic reactions. When owners communicate with their dogs, they may notice that their dogs’ teeth are very yellow. Today, we will discuss what to do if a dog’s teeth are yellow?

The first thing humans do every morning is brush their teeth, but dogs don’t have this habit nor the conditions to do so. Owners can brush their dogs’ teeth daily, preparing special toothbrushes and toothpaste for dogs, but they should not use force while brushing. Instead, the owner should slowly brush the dog’s teeth because the dog has never been exposed to toothpaste and may resist the taste at first. Owners need to gradually help dogs adapt to the taste of toothpaste.

Brushing dogs’ teeth is quite difficult; dogs might accidentally bite themselves. Owners can prepare dental sticks for dogs, which are specially designed for cleaning dogs’ teeth and come in many shapes and ingredients. Owners should choose based on the dog’s condition. If the dental sticks contain xylitol, it is recommended not to use them for dogs. Dental sprays are designed for pets; you only need the dog to open its mouth to spray on the teeth. However, dogs usually resist this unfamiliar item, so spraying may not go smoothly.

Usually, when we are out, to conveniently rinse our mouths, we use mouthwash to freshen our breath. Dogs can also use mouthwash, but owners should try to choose mouthwash suitable for dogs. Mixing mouthwash with water and letting the dog drink it as water can keep the dog’s breath fresh and teeth much cleaner. We can also buy some chew sticks or bones for dogs to help them grind off dirt on their teeth and reduce bad breath.
