American Staffordshire Terrier (Detailed Introduction)

　　The ideal male American Staffordshire Terrier has a shoulder height of 45.7-48.3cm, while the ideal female has a shoulder height of 43.2-45.7cm. The ideal weight should be 18-23kg, applicable to both males and females. This dog has strong shoulders, full muscles, broad and flat with a slight slope.
　　The head is medium-sized, deep, with a wide skull and full cheek muscles, and well-defined angles; eye position is high. Ears—cropped or uncropped, with the latter often preferred. Uncropped ears should be short, erect or semi-erect. Drooping ears are a flaw. Eyes—deep and round, set in the middle of the skull, spaced wide apart. Eyelids have no angles. Muzzle—medium length, rounded, tapering under the eyes. Jaw is defined, with a prominent lower jaw, firm and strong bite. Lips are closed, sometimes even tight. Upper teeth closely align outside the lower teeth. Nose is black.
　　The neck is stout, slightly arched, gradually narrowing from the shoulders to the back of the head. The skin is not loose. Length is moderate.
　　The back is slightly short. From the scapula to the pelvis it is slightly sloped, with a slight slope at the tail base. The loin is slightly arched.
　　The torso has well-extended ribs with small spacing, with the last few pairs slightly tucked in. The front legs have wide spacing, which benefits chest development. The chest is deep and broad.
　　The tail is short relative to body size, set low, tapering gradually to the tip, not curled or raised above the back. It is not docked.
　　The front legs are straight, strong, bones round, wrists upright, not bending forward. The thighs are muscular, extending down to the hock joint, neither outward nor inward turned. The paws are moderately sized, with appropriate arching, compact. Gait is elastic, not swaying or pacing.
　　The coat is short, dense, feels harsh, and smooth. Any color is allowed for the coat, including solid, mixed, or patched patterns, but all white, more than eighty percent white, and liver color are discouraged.
