Several Foods Beneficial to the Health of Siberian Huskies
Previously, we learned about several foods that Huskies cannot eat. Now we will introduce several foods beneficial to Siberian Huskies, such as potatoes, apples, pork, soybeans... these are all good foods for Huskies.
If possible, dog owners can buy some of these and make a nutritious homemade dog food for their beloved Siberian Huskies on weekends. This also truly shows your love for your dog.
1. Meat
1. Chicken: Chicken breast is preferable. Because chicken breast contains no excess fat, it is an indispensable ingredient to supplement animal protein. Especially when Huskies have weaker digestive systems or are dieting, eating high-protein, low-calorie chicken breast is most suitable. Feeding Huskies chicken liver is also good, but do not feed chicken liver regularly in daily feeding.
Occasionally is fine, as eating too much chicken liver can cause excess vitamin A, making Huskies prone to obesity. If you find chicken breast and chicken liver expensive, you can also buy chicken heads, chicken necks, chicken livers, and chicken frames for your Husky dog. These are not too expensive and are quite nutritious. But pay attention to one point: you must use a pressure cooker to soften the bones! Otherwise, bones that are too hard may puncture the puppy’s intestines, and the medical expenses will far exceed the price of chicken.
2. Lean pork: Lean meat has less fat and contains a large amount of vitamin B1, which helps restore normal digestive function. Although Huskies require only a small amount, insufficient intake may cause some skin problems, so it is necessary to regularly feed some pork to Huskies, especially puppies.
2. Vegetables
1. Broccoli: Broccoli consists of flower buds and stems, containing β-carotene, vitamins B1, B2, C, as well as iron and dietary fiber, making it a highly nutritious food. The stem part is particularly rich in fiber.
2. Pumpkin: Pumpkin is very effective in improving constipation in Huskies. Besides being rich in fiber, it also contains vitamins B2, B12, vitamin C, and carotene, among other nutrients, with vitamin B2 helping to prevent anemia in dogs.
3. Cabbage: Because it contains sulfur and chlorine, it helps cleanse Huskies' digestive systems. It also contains vitamins A, B complex, calcium, sodium, and iron. The part near the cabbage heart is rich in vitamin C, while the leaves contain β-carotene.
4. Potatoes: Potatoes contain a large amount of vitamin C and potassium and are considered low-allergenic foods. When feeding, make sure to cook them thoroughly. Also, dogs suffering from arthritis, parasite infections, or respiratory diseases should absolutely not eat potatoes.
5. Soybeans: When Huskies lack protein, it can cause weakness and increase the chance of viral infections. Soybeans contain rich plant-based protein, which is very beneficial for improving dog nutrition. If feeding soybeans, boil them in water until completely soft before giving them to your dog.
6. Soybean powder: Made from dry roasted soybeans ground into powder. Soybean powder contains protein, abundant minerals, dietary fiber, and fatty acids, which are very effective in improving dog hair loss.
3. Fruits
1. Apples: Apples are rich in dietary fiber, helpful for improving constipation and intestinal problems. Additionally, pectin in dietary fiber helps eliminate toxins inside the body. However, since apples contain high sugar levels, avoid giving your dog excessive amounts.
2. Bananas: Bananas quickly replenish nutrients and are suitable for dogs as well. In addition to rich dietary fiber, they contain oligosaccharides that promote beneficial bacteria in the gut and aid intestinal peristalsis. Highly recommended for constipated dogs or dogs prone to digestive upset.
4. A little extra: If you have time, you can mix millet flour, white flour, eggs, Chinese cabbage, kelp, carrots, and chicken, steam the mixture into buns that dogs love to eat and are convenient to store.
